The new President Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake went to Kandy after taking the oath and paid his respects. Then the President met the chiefs of the Malwatu Asgiri faction.
It is reported that Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who was sworn in as the President this morning, visited Sri Dalada Maliga in the afternoon and traveled to Kandy in the normal cars he had used so far to visit the dignitaries.
He has traveled from Colombo to Kandy via the Central Expressway via Kurunegala.
It was seen how the new president arrived in Kandy using only two ordinary cars without using helicopters and was praised by the people there.
