The construction of the first phase of the Quarantine Center at the Maduru Oya Training School premises belonging to the Sri Lanka Army, which is being built with the financial contribution of Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB), has been successfully completed recently.
Here, in order to help the national effort to control Covid-19, CDB has donated Rs. 10 million was donated, which was used to construct the accommodation and quarantine complex of this training school.
In 2020, during the period when the Covid epidemic was intensifying across the country, CDB joined this project by supporting the national operation of Covid control as a corporate responsibility. According to the requirement at that time, it was planned to build this quarantine center, and today it is planned to run it as a place to provide accommodation for the students entering the Maduru Oya Army Training School.
In the first phase which has been completed so far, 64 people will have accommodation facilities, and the entire building complex has been designed so that it can be easily used by disabled people. The ground floor of the center was recently inaugurated by Brigadier Najeeva Edirisinghe RWP, RSP, psc Hdmc, and a group of Sri Lanka Army officers also joined the occasion.
“When there is a need at the national level, this building complex will be constructed as a national resource that can be used for the benefit of the Sri Lankan people. This can be termed as a factor that once again confirms the interest and commitment of CDB for the well-being of Sri Lankans.” CDB’s Executive Director/ Deputy CEO/ Chief Financial Officer Mr. Damith Thennakoon said.
