Steps have been taken to start the ‘registration of foreign players’ for the fourth phase of the Lanka Premier League cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket. Foreign players who wish to represent the tournament can register under two categories through the website https://srilankacricket.lk/lpl-playerregistration-portal/. Here, one category can be registered for players who have represented international matches (Capped) and the other category for players who have only played domestic matches (Uncapped).
Capped players
Under this category, he is considered a “Capped” player if he has represented his country at least once in one of the three formats namely Test, ODI or T20.
Uncapped players
Players who have not represented their country under this category but have played first-class cricket in that country or represented a franchise Twenty20 cricket league sanctioned by a full or associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) are registered under “Uncapped” players.
Former Sri Lankan players
Players who have retired from cricket but are still involved in competitive franchise cricket conducted by full or associate members of the International Cricket Council can also register through the web portal https://srilankacricket.lk/lpl-player-registration-portal/.
All the players are expected to represent the tournament on May 25, 2023, at PM. Registrations must be completed before 12 noon. In addition, the owners of the respective teams have already signed contracts with the players of their choice.
The Lanka Premier League, which will be held for the fourth time, will be held from July 30 to August 20. (Direct quote: Divaina)
