Electricity and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera says that about 1,100 employees of the Ceylon Electricity Board will retire in 2023.
Accordingly, the minister states in a Twitter message that no new recruitments will be made for those vacancies.
Also, the minister further states that between 3.5 and 3.7 billion rupees have been spent monthly for the salaries and allowances of the Electricity Board employees for the months of September, October and November 2022.
