The second round of Argentina’s presidential election was held and independentist Javier Milei won with 55 percent of the vote.

Argentina held its first presidential election last October. A second round had to be held because no candidate in the first round failed to win more than 50% of the votes.

The second round was held between Sergio Tomás Massa, who won the most votes in the first round, and Javier Milei, who held the position of Minister of Finance. Sergio Tomás Massa managed to get only 44% of the votes.

Argentina, which belongs to Latin America, is a state that is tired of a severe economic crisis. While celebrating the win Javier Milei said to his party supporters, that his main goal is to revive the country’s economy, which has been severely weakened and collapsed.

Sergio Tomás Massa, a right-wing neoliberal, has also predicted Milei’s victory. Massa’s supporters have started protests saying that they cannot accept the results of the presidential election, Argentine media have reported.
