Discussions between Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi and President Ranil Wickramasinghe, who is on a two-day official visit, were held in Colombo yesterday (29). In this discussion, which began by recalling the long-standing bilateral relations between Japan and Sri Lanka, the need for both sides to work with dedication to further strengthen those relations in many fields was emphasized.
Ranil Wickramasinghe, who expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the Japanese government for the credit optimization process in Sri Lanka, also explained the facts about the discussion held with French President Emmanuel Macron for improving the common platform of the credit optimization process and speeding up the process.
Also, the importance of expediting the Light Rail Project (LRT), Port East Terminal, Kandy Development Plan, Central Expressway and the expansion of Bandaranaike International Airport, which further demonstrates the Japan-Sri Lanka cooperation, was also highlighted in this discussion.
