India has taken steps to ban the export of wheat, according to the country’s media reports.
Media reports have further said that the Indian government has taken this decision to control the rise in domestic wheat flour prices.
It is said that due to the prevailing hot weather, the wheat harvest has decreased in the country, which is one of the main reasons for the increase in the price of wheat flour.
Media reports have further indicated that the export of wheat flour has been allowed only for countries that have opened letters of credit and have applied to meet food safety requirements.
The Indian authorities have also stated that this ban is temporary.
Media reports also show that India had planned to export 10 million tons before the export ban was imposed. (Indian News)
