A gazette notification has been issued removing the import restrictions imposed on 10 items.
According to this, the Minister of State for Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya stated that President Ranil Wickremesinghe has issued this gazette announcement as the Minister of Finance.
The 10 items that have been relaxed include energy drinks, MDF boards for furniture production, CCTV equipment and sports goods, it said.
Minister of State for Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya further states that import restrictions have been relaxed on three occasions.
