Buddhist devotees across the world celebrate the Il Full Moon Poya day today (07).
IL Poya commemorates the Buddha’s ordination of sixty disciples as the first Buddhist missionaries and Maitreya Buddha receiving Niyatha Vivarana (prediction of future Buddhahood).
IL Poya day is also considered the last Poya day on which Katina Cheevara Pooja can be performed.
