The meeting between the delegation headed by International Cricket Council Vice President Imran Khwaja and the officials of Sri Lanka Cricket took place in Colombo yesterday (10th) evening to find out if there has been any political interference in the Sri Lanka Cricket administration. The meeting between these two parties has taken place in a major hotel in Colombo.
The representatives of Sri Lanka Cricket have stated in the presence of the ICC representatives that there are various political pressures on the Sri Lanka Cricket Institute and the pressures on the administration due to this. They have also mentioned to the ICC representatives that the independence of their institution has been damaged due to these influences.
The delegation including Imran Khwaja, who discussed the matter with the Sri Lanka Cricket representatives yesterday, is scheduled to discuss with the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Mr Roshan Ranasinghe today (11th). The discussion between these two parties is scheduled to take place this evening at the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
