United Kingdom Member of Parliament Mrs. Kathryn West said in a note on her Twitter account yesterday (22) that she congratulates Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake who was elected as the 9th Executive President of Sri Lanka.
Mrs. West said that the United Kingdom government is ready to work with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and his government to further strengthen the partnership between Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom.
Also, the British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Mr. Andrew Patrick, also congratulated President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. He said that it was an honor for him to participate in the swearing in of Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake as the President.
Pointing out that there is a long-term friendship and close economic relationship between Sri Lanka and Britain, the High Commissioner said that he hopes to work with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and his government to strengthen those relations.
