Buddhika Iddamalgoda, Chairman of the Paddy Marketing Board, says that the Paddy Marketing Board has made a profit after 14 years. According to him, the paddy marketing board has made a profit of 10 million rupees in the last Yala season.
The chairman has further said that an additional amount of 2 billion rupees is to be obtained from the Farmers’ Trust Fund at a subsidized interest for the purchase of paddy and that the funds are to be used to purchase paddy in the upcoming season.
