Election Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake says that 100 million rupees have been given from the treasury for the local government elections.
Accordingly, he mentioned that the marking of postal votes related to local government elections will be done on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of this month as scheduled.
He also mentioned that if they are unable to mark their vote in these three days due to something, they can mark their postal vote on the 28th in front of the returning officer of the district where their institution is located.
Election Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake further stated that 36,000 postal voting applications have been rejected.
