Additional Excise Commissioner General Kapila Kumarasinghe says that they are working to revise the excise license fees as shown in the 2024 budget proposals.
Accordingly, he mentioned that the meagre rates associated with alcohol factories will be increased to a significant level.
He also mentioned that the department hopes to allow entering the alcohol industry only to those who have the proper investment ability.
Additional Excise Commissioner General Kapila Kumarasinghe further stated that it is expected to revise the deadlines for keeping excise licenses open occasionally.
