The Irrigation Department says that the Attanagalu, Kalu, Kelani, Ging, and Nilwala basins are full of water, so if heavy rainfall occurs in one or more of those basins, there is a risk of flooding in some areas of those basins.
Meanwhile, the department also says that there may be a slight flood situation in the low-lying areas belonging to Palinda Kandy and Bulathsinhala regional secretariat divisions.
The Irrigation Department requests the people in the concerned areas to be vigilant in this regard.
