Director General of Geological Survey and Mines Bureau MMJA Ajithprema says that there is a risk of creating a new land boundary between 900 and 1000 kilometres to Sri Lanka. He mentioned that due to this risk, there has been a trend of earthquake occurrence in this country.

According to the reports of the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau, 09 earthquakes have been reported in the country so far this year. This is the first time that 09 earthquakes have been reported in the country in a short period of 4 months.
