As Italy’s Mount Etna erupts, authorities have suspended all flights to Catalina Island.

The 3,300-meter-high Mount Etna previously erupted on a large scale in 1992. After that, the volcano erupted from time to time in the last few years, but there were no large-scale eruptions. Mount Etna is located south of Catalina Island. (Reuters)
