According to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the official reserve asset value of the Central Bank has increased to 3,483 million US dollars as of May 2023. The central bank said that the percentage of increase in reserve assets is 26.2% compared to last April, and the number of dollar assets in April was 2,761 million dollars.
The central bank also says that foreign exchange reserves, the main component of official reserve assets, increased by 27.9% during the month of May. The Central Bank further asserts that these reserves also include receipts of US$1.4 billion in foreign exchange facilities offered by the People’s Bank of China. (Lankadeepa)
