An investigation has revealed that 64,000 litres of diesel were misplaced in the Maharagama depot last year.

Between the first of January last year and the end of the year, this stock of fuel litres has been misplaced and it is estimated that the Ceylon Transport Board has incurred a loss of two million and seventy lakh rupees.

This has been revealed during the end of the year accounting and to investigate further in this regard, SLTB Deputy General Manager (Finance) Mr Mangala Jayathilaka has appointed a 17-member committee consisting of accountants, where this fraud has also been confirmed. (Lankadeepa)
