The legendary Claridge’s hotel in London has unveiled the 2022 Christmas tree that Sandra Choi created for Jimmy Choo.
The sculptural Christmas tree, dubbed “The Diamond,” was inspired by the designer’s obsession with diamonds and her desire to enter one. The tree, which took more than 350 hours to build, is made of 250 individual aluminium panels, 69 reflecting mirrors, and 60 meters of glittering light that pulses, undulates, and reflects off its multifarious surface.
A homage to one of the main design motifs of Jimmy Choo’s winter collection, the holiday sculpture is more than 5 meters tall and has a huge, sparkling bow topper.
The Christmas tree was created in collaboration with set designer Simon Costin so that visitors may stand within and enjoy the space’s gleaming, diamond-reflected atmosphere.
Sandra Choi, creative director of Jimmy Choo, commented on her festive exhibit in a statement, saying, “I have always said I would love to know what it is like to go inside a diamond, and now I can! It has been a privilege to work with Simon Costin on this amazing project. Jimmy Choo has frequently been compared to a diamond, not just because jewels are incorporated in our designs but also because of the collections’ complexity and the reflection and light they want to provide. the capacity to change and shine brightly.

Long associated with the beginning of the holiday season in London, the Claridge’s Christmas Tree has seen the hotel collaborate with designers like Karl Lagerfeld, Christopher Bailey, John Galliano for Dior, Alber Elbaz, and Diane von Furstenberg to showcase their unique takes on the holiday season.
