The Constitutional Council has unanimously approved the President’s recommendation to appoint M.K.P. Fernando, President of the Court of Appeal, to the position left vacant by the retirement of Supreme Court Justice L.T.B. Dehideniya.
It is said that the Constitutional Council has also unanimously approved the appointment of N.B.P.D.S Karunaratne as the President of the Court of Appeal.
The meeting of the Constitutional Council was held yesterday (30) under the chairmanship of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene.
