Yesterday night (15th) the intercity train coming from Kankasanthurai derailed near colpetty.
Due to this, the railway department states that only the trains going to Beliatta at 06.50 am and the train going to Beliatta at 08.30 am are scheduled to run on the coastal route from Colombo Fort this morning (16).
Even though the train running from the coastal route to Colombo Fort is running, it is running with a slight delay and several morning train journeys have been canceled so far.
