Citing sources, the Economic Times has reported that China is preparing to submit a proposal to Sri Lanka requesting permission to set up a radar system in the Dewundara (Dondra Head) area of Sri Lanka.
If so proposed, its purpose is to monitor India’s behaviour in the Indian Ocean region and the activities of the Indian Navy, the Economic Times has pointed out.
The Economic Times has reported that the other purpose of the proposed radar system is to monitor US and British military activities on Diego Garcia Island. (Lankadeepa)
