The Cabinet has approved a proposal submitted to the Cabinet to write off unpaid farm loans taken by paddy farmers.
According to this, it is said that the cabinet has approved the cancellation of the basic loans which have been taken by the government banks for paddy cultivation on two hectares of land or less.
The proposal made by Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe as the Minister of Finance has been submitted to the Cabinet.
