The Sri Lanka National Construction Association says that due to the government’s decision to increase indirect taxes, small and medium businessmen as well as the construction industry will be severely affected.
Accordingly, its president Susantha Liyanarachchi stated that entrepreneurs will have to pay indirect taxes of nearly 22% in the future.
He further mentioned that if some system is introduced for direct taxes than indirect taxes, it will be relatively bearable.
