Magistrate Nilantha Wimalaratne ordered the release of 15 people including Sasanka Sampath Sanjeewa, the Nawalapitiya seat organizer of the Samagi Jana Balawega, who was involved in a protest in Nawalapitiya town and was arrested by the police.
Releasing each person on personal bail of one lakh rupees, the magistrate directed them to appear before the court again on December 13.
A meeting of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna was held in Nawalapitiya city and this protest was held in Nawalapitiya city against the participation of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Namal Rajapaksa and many activists of that party. (Lankadeepa)
