Sri Lanka Customs officers have arrested a Sri Lankan passenger arriving from Malaysia while in possession of over 10 kilograms of ‘Ice’ (crystal methamphetamine), estimated to be worth around Rs. 250 million, at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake.Customs officers have discovered approximately 10.197 kilograms of ‘Ice’ drugs hidden inside tea packets in the luggage of the passenger, who had arrived at BIA from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, onboard flight MH 179, at around 11.30 p.m. last night (18).The suspect had attempted to exit through the green channel without declaring the items to customs. Police have arrested a female suspect wanted for the murder of a 58-year-old woman in Embaraluwa South, Weliweriya.The arrest was made following an investigation into the murder, which took place in September, by the Weliweriya Police. The arrested woman, the second suspect in the murder, had fled the area after the incident but was apprehended yesterday in the Balummahara area.
