Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Administrative Secretary Renuka Perera has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for allegedly posting false information on ‘Mahaviru’ commemorations in the North through social media, police said.
Based on information provided by Army Intelligence, the Police Special Task Force (STF) arrested a suspect on 03 December 2024 at the Suriyawewa Bus Station in Kantale.The suspect was caught attempting to illegally sell an elephant pearl valued at Rs. 4.1 million and a Suleiman stone.
