The Ministry of Education says that the new school term for the academic year 2025 will commence today, (January 27).Accordingly, the first school term will be divided into three phases, with the first phase planned to take place from today until March 14.Furthermore, the Ministry of Education announced that the second phase will take place from April 1 to 11, and the third phase will be from April 21 to May 9.

The State Trading Corporation says that 4,500 metric tons of salt ordered from India will arrive in Sri Lanka on January 27. Chairman Ravindra Fernando said that the first batch of imported salt will be received by the country.
