A Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Beechcraft KA-350 aircraft has been deployed this morning (29) to locate the two missing fishermen who were onboard a multi-day fishing vessel which met with an accident off the coast of Paravi Wella Beach in Tangalle.According to the Air Force Media Unit, the aircraft has been engaged in a search operation for approximately one hour to locate the two missing individuals.At the time of the accident, there were six fishermen onboard the multi-day fishing vessel.Four of them were rescued, while two remain missing.Meanwhile, three other boat accidents were reported yesterday in seas off Galle,…

A group of eight individuals, including children between the ages of 12 and 24, who went missing while visiting the Hanthana Mountain Range in Kandy has been rescued.Due to the prevailing rain and misty conditions, the group lost their way and were unable to find a path back last evening (28).After their parents were alerted, the Army and Police launched a joint operation and managed to locate the group.The rescued children have been admitted to the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital.

Sri Lanka Police lifeguards have rescued two youth from drowning after the duo who went for a swim at the Ussangoda Beach was caught in a strong current and dragged into the sea.The incident occurred last evening (28), police stated.Police Life-Saving Unit officers on duty at the at the time responded immediately and rescued the two individuals, providing them with first aid before handing them over to their families.The duo, aged 19 and 34 has been identified as residents Hungama.
