President Ranil Wickremesinghe has emphasized that all authorities should make every effort to use the public money spent by the government sparingly and with maximum efficiency, considering the severe economic difficulties that the government has to face in the current economic and social climate of the country.Accordingly, it has been decided to provide facilities to the newly appointed state ministers under the management of public expenditure.Below is the announcement issued by the Presidential Media Unit in this regard.

In response to the overwhelming public demand and based on the objective of providing a high level of service to passengers, the Railway Department has made arrangements to extend the period of 14 days to 30 days for allocating seats in front of the train.It is said that this service will be implemented from September 13.Accordingly, passengers will be able to reserve their respective seats a month before the train starts.
