The body of Anjana Kulathunga, a student who went missing on the 16th while studying in the fourth year of the University of Peradeniya, has been found lying on the banks of the Mahaweli River.The police said that this was found near the Gannoruwa area, which is nearly 2 kilometers away from Peradeniya University.Police said that a letter suspected to have been written by this student was also found in the room where he was staying.Peradeniya Police is conducting further investigations regarding the incident.

Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage has today (21) ordered that the former president of Sathosa, Wenura Gunawardena, be released on bail.The Criminal Investigation Department had arrested Sathosa on suspicion of defrauding over 31 lakh rupees and presented him to the court.Accordingly, the magistrate today ordered that Wenura Gunawardena be released on a cash bail of fifty thousand rupees and two personal sureties of 10 million rupees each.
