The Department of Meteorology announces that rain or thundershowers may occur today (May 06) in Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Western and Southern Provinces as well as Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts. The announcement also states that there may be rain or thundershowers at some places in the North, East and Uva provinces in the evening or at night.It further states that the winds blowing from time to time in the western and southern coastal areas can become gusty winds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour.
