The Sri Lanka women’s team lost by 10 wickets against Australia in the 11th match of the Women’s Twenty20 World Cup cricket tournament.
Sri Lanka, who won the toss of the match and batted first at the invitation of Australia, could score only 112 runs for the loss of 8 wickets at the end of the scheduled 20 overs.
Captain Chamari Athapattu was dismissed for 16 runs, Harshita Samarawickrama scored 34 runs and Vishmi Gunaratne scored 24 runs. Nilakshi de Silva was unbeaten on 15 runs.
Australia, who played the reply innings, scored 113 runs without losing any wickets at the end of 15.5 overs and managed to pass the winning target.
