The Eye Unit of Teaching Hospital Jaffna, in collaboration with the Army Base Hospital-Palaly, successfully carried out a unique cataract surgery program from October 14 to 25, 2024 at Teaching Hospital Jaffna.
According to Army media, Dr. M. Malaravan and a team of five consultant eye surgeons oversaw this effort, which gave over 2,000 free, high-quality cataract surgeries to people from remote areas in the Northern Province.
Senior Army Officers, the Regional Director of Health Services-Jaffna, the Director of Teaching Hospital-Jaffna, and Other Ranks were present to mark the programme’s conclusion, it further said.
