Cabinet approval has been granted to integrate and implement the National Policy on Drinking Water and the National Policy on Water Safety with other relevant policies.
It is reported that the need for a more comprehensive and updated approach has been recognized to face the trends and challenges that have arisen in the drinking water supply service sector.
Accordingly, it is stated that the “National Policy on Drinking Water” and the “National Policy on Water Safety” have been prepared in a manner that suits the current and future needs, after consulting experts and stakeholders in the relevant field as well as public opinion.
It further states that it is expected to achieve the objectives of ensuring access to safe and quality drinking water for all citizens, promoting sustainable water use and promoting economic growth and prosperity in the water sector.
