Apollo 8 astronaut William Alison Anders, who took the ‘Earthrise’ photo, considered the most famous photograph taken in space, has died. He was 90 years old when he died.
It is said that he died when the Beechcraft A A 45 – T-34 small plane he was flying crashed into the water north of Seattle, Washington.

The “Earthrise” photo was taken by Anders, a lunar module pilot on the Apollo 8 mission, the first manned space flight to reach the moon.
