The Public Utilities Commission says that no permission will be given for any kind of power cut until February 17.
According to Janaka Ratnayake, the chairman of the commission, this decision was taken to protect the rights of more than 331,000 students appearing for the advanced-level examination.
The Public Utilities Commission further states that if there is a power cut during that period, it will be considered unauthorized and illegal.
