The Telecommunication Regulatory Commission has taken steps to conduct a mobile sim re-registration service throughout the island while updating mobile sim.
The commission mentions that it is mandatory for consumers using mobile phones to register the sims they use in their name and to be aware of the sims issued under their national identity card number.
Accordingly, the first phase of the Sim re-registration program will be implemented in Kandy district from Monday (November 13) to Saturday (November 18) from 09.00 am to 04.00 pm.
The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission states that if any other SIMs are registered under their identity card, they should cancel them immediately and the information can be confirmed by calling #132#.
