The Japan Sri Lanka Friendship Foundation of Fukuoka, Japan has recently given an honorary award to two Sri Lankan Ayurvedic doctors for creating a twenty thousand square feet Mahiyangana Ayurveda Museum and Educational Resort built for the Ayurvedic field in Sri Lanka by investing their personal wealth.
Ayurvedic doctor H.M. Both Withanachi and Mali Withanachi were recently awarded the above-mentioned honourary award in Japan.
Mahiyangana Dambana Ayurveda Museum, which includes detailed explanations of Purva Karma and Panchakarma treatments performed according to Ayurveda, preservation of medicine pallets, aids and books used by ancient Ayurvedic doctors, is an ideal haven for local and foreign users to gain knowledge on the subject.
There has been a lot of discussion in the Ayurvedic field of Sri Lanka about the awarding of an honorary award by a Japanese foundation in an environment that has not received any government support or attention in Sri Lanka. (Lankadeepa)
