According to the information received by the wildlife officers that a leopard is caught in a trap near Yala Park, Uva Provincial, a group led by Wildlife Dr W. A Dharmakeerthi came to the Rotawewa area this morning and was carrying out the operation to save the leopard, the leopard that broke the drug at the same time jumped on the body of wildlife doctor Malaka Abeywardena and bit his right arm in the elbow area.

The leopard had escaped into the jungle after the wildlife officers shouted.
