An announcement from the Bar Association regarding the designation of several areas as high-security zones

The Sri Lanka Bar Association has expressed its position regarding the President’s decision to designate several areas of Colombo as high-security zones.

They point out that the State Secrets Act does not have the power to declare large areas as high-security zones.

As the Defense Minister, President Ranil Wickremesinghe issued a special gazette announcement yesterday (23) naming several areas of Colombo as high-security zones.
