A group of 20 people, including a senior diplomatic officer of the United States of America, arrived at the Katunayake airport yesterday (14th) at around 07.00 pm in two special planes belonging to the American Air Force.
Security had been tightened in the Katunayake airport and its surrounding area for about 03 days for this arrival and this security was tightened since the afternoon of yesterday (14).
They had used Boeing C-17A Globemaster-III type aeroplanes of the American Air Force carrying these diplomats to arrive at Katunayake Airport and these aeroplanes had left from Greece. (Lankadeepa)
