Alfred Perera who was a radio announcer, translator and veteran actor has passed away. He was 93 years old when he died.

He last joined a media program with Unforgettable Memories which was a feature of the ITN news release.

Mr Perera worked as a news anchor for the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation for a long time. He has also worked as an interpreter in the Parliament of Sri Lanka for a long time. Alfred Perera, who was in charge of the Sinhala section of the Veritas radio service in Manila, Philippines, is also the founder of the very popular Vinoda Samaya program on the radio. And the opening announcer of the program was Mr Perera. Showing off his artistic abilities, he acted in many films and also acted in several teledramas. The last rites of the late Alfred Perera are scheduled to be carried out at the Dalugama church burial ground next Tuesday.
