After more than 10 years of research, a team led by a Sri Lankan scientist has discovered a superconductor that can revolutionize the physical world.

This discovery has been made by a team including a Sri Lankan professor Ranga Dias and has succeeded in creating this superconducting material by mixing the elements hydrogen, nitrogen and lutetium.

The speciality of this is the ability to move electricity from one place to another without spending energy, and when sending it through the magnetic field, it floats and travels without friction, so no energy is spent.

Professor Ranga Dias graduated from the University of Colombo with a Bachelor of Science degree and a PhD in Physics from the University of Washington. (Neth Gossip)
