The Cabinet has approved the establishment of a State Enterprise Restructuring Unit.
It is stated that the purpose of establishing this unit is to provide necessary guidance and support in the reformation of public enterprises with the aim of improving the overall performance of government-owned enterprises.
It is stated that this unit is also assigned to identify ways to reduce the financial burden assigned to the Treasury.
It is further stated that the government has taken steps to establish this State Enterprise Restructuring Unit to introduce an alternative mechanism for the efficient and effective operation of such businesses due to the unsatisfactory performance of government-owned commercial enterprises for a long time.
