The Solar Universe 10-megawatt ground-mounted solar power plant, constructed in the Batticaloa district’s Vaunativu sector, was inaugurated today (11).
According to the Ministry of Power and Energy, this power plant was built with the help of Wind Force, Vidu Lanka, and Hi-Energy enterprises.
This is the first initiative in Sri Lanka to combine agricultural with solar energy generation, and the facility will provide 20-gigawatt hours to the national grid each year.
