According to media reports, officials reported that a Russian military aircraft carrying 74 passengers had crashed in the Belgorod region.

65 Ukrainian personnel were on board, according to Russian news outlets that cited the Defense Ministry. They were being flown to Belgorod in preparation for a prisoner swap. The claim here cannot be independently verified by CNN.

Three “accompanying personnel” and six crew members were also present on board the IL-76.
