Foreign media reports that a new resolution on Sri Lanka may be passed at the end of this month at the 51st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
The draft resolution focuses on providing the necessary legal and other guidelines for the exercise of international jurisdiction in Sri Lanka and the prosecution of persons who have clear evidence of having committed a crime in violation of international law.
It is said that these draft resolutions recommend that actions should be taken against the high-ranking government officials and political leaders who committed the economic crimes that led to the weakening of human rights in Sri Lanka.
It is also said that the draft resolution to be presented under the sponsorship of the United States of America, Britain, Malawi, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Germany, and Canada will have the support of many countries.
