Member of Parliament Patali Champika Ranawaka was elected unopposed yesterday (23) for the position of Chairman of the Standing Committee on Public Finance Strategy (Methods and Procedures) of the Parliament.
To that parliamentary committee supervising all revenue agencies including the Inland Revenue Department, Customs Department, and Excise Department, Investigating taxes and duties and reporting new ideas and reviewing progress, Supervising foreign trade agreements and related matters, Supervising public expenditure processes related to social welfare, disasters Much of the scope of the Ministry of Finance includes review and oversight powers, including oversight of the management process.
